Is winxp x64 worth it?

everything is doing good but one problem im having its not giving me access to my video card. Its saying i have this,

standard VGA graphics adapter

where i have my 7900 in the pci e slot. God im so pissed off.


I put in my cd to install it installs the directx9 but when i do the nvidia drivers it just cancels saying it doesnt support it.


ANd my audio codec on my motherboard cd wont install

You could also probably get 64 bit compatible drivers for your chipset and audio from your Motherboard's manufacturer website.

As for the general "is 64 bit worth it question", I would say that in general, at this time, there is not enough compatible hardware or software to make it worthwhile to use a 64 bit O/S, at least for most people.

 

Worth what? compaired to what?
IMO it's as good as XP maybe better it depends.
With Vista released we might see more 64bit apps:cool

I run x64 on a couple PC's, I love it, seems faster, snappier & more stable when OCed
Many 32bit programs run fine on x64
I been dual booting with XP pro for while due to lack of drivers etc but things are much better now, if i only had x64 that would be fine:major



I'm running DirectX 9.0c using 64bit drivers 84.25's BFG 7800GT OC my other PC runs 81.94's 64 bit with an XFX 6800XTreme
I cant run the latest 93.71 drivers confused when I tried I couldnt boot so I stuck with what worked best for me




The PC I'm using at the moment is Dual booted with XP pro & x64
