Is XP SP2 safe now?

    The AU tried to install XP SP2 today and I cancelled it. Is SP2 safe now or are the same problems that were heretofore reported still there?

    XP2 was always fairly safe to being with SO long as you updated all your drivers/software to latest versions, were virus and spyware free and disabled your AV and Firewall before installing.

    and Kaula's advice of backing up is a must, no matter what you install be that OS updates or just new software you should have backups of important data.

    The only issues I had with SP2 was uninstalling SP2 RC1 and then installing SP2 RC2. :)
