    Morning!

I remember reading a post some time ago which I believe said that yahoo messenger might not be safe to leave open.

I am running Vista, have Norton and Vista's built-in firewall. I would like to keep messenger open, but I'm concerned about any safety issues.

    Thanks,
    Connie

Hi Connie and morning or afternoon

Great question, my take on this is IF you have adiquate PC security, keep the software upto date and do not accept unknown messages or invites off users you do not know as well as accept files off folk in your user list you do not fully know 100% and trust then your fine to leave it open, but I do tend to always close MSN Messenger ( dont use Yahoo ) when not using it.

To be infected you would really need to accept and run a file sent to you via a contact, so just leaving it open is not really much of an issue IMO.
