    HI,
I've been trying to open and install software, currently it's an .iso file.
how do I deal with it? Do I burn it on a DVD then load it or what?
    Any help
    Thanks

You can burn it as an image file onto a DVD and then boot the computer from the DVD. ImgBurn will burn an image file to DVD easily.

If you want to get a drive emulator software (Daemon Tools, PowerIso etc.) it will create a Virtual DVD drive on your machine. Then in My Computer you can right-click the new virtual DVD drive and Mount the ISO file and run it from there.

If you have a stack of DVDs lying around it is probably simplest to just burn it to disc. :)

Edit: Depending on the type of software the disc contains you may not need to boot the computer from the disc. After burning you would just run it from the DVD-Rom drive.

My limited experience with .iso files is burning them to a CD or DVD depending on the file size. CD will hold 700 MB, DVD will hold 4.7 GB, then there is dual layer, blu-ray, and others in development that will hold up to 1TB. If you are using Windows download and install IMGBurn, available on this web site or just a Google search away.
After installing IMGBurn right click on the .iso file and choose burn using IMGBurn,
The program is rather intuitive, makes it easy to use for the masses. If it is a program you are installing the file or files should then be on the finished disk. Be sure you are not running IMGBurn on test, check the verify box up top to have the burn verified, and if you have an RW disk use it as opposed to one that isn't rewritable, if the burn isn't good you will be creating drink coasters. Also may want to lower write speed if burn goes awry. Am posting this using a disk burned from an iso. image using IMGBurn. Hope I made some sense, happy hunting. :major
