    Hi all,

I have a bootable Micro SD card that I created from an OpenWrt image with Rufus. I use it to boot my NanoPi as a router. Now I would like to make a back up of that Micro SD card in .iso format and save it on my Windows hard disk.

I have tried a number of image tools on Windows, but none 'see' my Micro SD card. I can see the card in Windows Disk Manager, but no utility I can find can recognize the card. Since the utilities cannot see it, they cannot image it.

Can anyone recommend an imaging tool that would work with an EXT4 formatted Micro SD card on Windows?

You won't find anything in Windows. Open WRT is linux. Windows doesn't "see" linux. Unless you put a linux partition on the Windows computer, that ISO won't appear.

Your best bet is probably to use some cloning command in NanoPi to copy the microsd card to another microsd card so you have 2 copies.
    Something along these lines

I thought that might be the case. Thank you.

Yes, in windows use Win32 Disk Imager, here is a guide: https://www.tomshardware.com/how-to/back-up-raspberry-pi-as-disk-image
    I'd also suggest https://hddguru.com/software/HDD-Raw-Copy-Tool/
"HDD Raw Copy does not care about the operating system on the drive – it could be Windows, Linux, Mac, or any other OS with any number of partitions (including hidden ones). Bad sectors are skipped by the tool." If you want to 'edit' Linux formatted disks, I'd suggest https://www.paragon-software.com/us/home/linuxfs-windows/#

Win32 Disk Imager won’t recognize the ext4 formatted sd card unfortunately. I’m using dd on a linux laptop now so I am all set. Thanks for the replies, and Happy New Year!
