I have just changed my ISP to Tiscali and am already having problems. My dial up connection has been broken twice in the last 2 hours. Is there any software available to log such ISP disconnections so I can present evidence to Tiscali when I complain? I changed from freeserve because they changed my connection settings without prior warning and my dial up just suddenly stopped working. It looks like Tiscali force you to make a premium rate phone call if you wish to complain about anything but I will keep looking for an e mail address I can use to contact them.

    Many thanks,

    fido

    Check your event logs.

I'm not positive(Its been over a year since dial up), but I think it logs connections and disconnections.

Check both system and application logs.

    Right click My Computer, manage.

    Expand event viewer.

This is only available to Windows 2K/XP/2003.

    Thanks gents,

I am on WIN ME so I don't have the event viewer. At present I don't have a website, although it might be worth throwing one together, especially if it means the dial up cost is tax deductable ;) . Unfortunately there is no Broadband in my area and I suspect dial up customers are now regarded as 2nd class citizens.
