Hey guys, I always come here for computer help since you guys are the best. I have a an issue atm with my TV as a monitor.

I have been using the TV as a monitor for some time now and I have no troubles, I run the TV to a GTX 550ti with an HDMI cord. The screen and the UI of windows lines up perfect when i Select a resolution from the ( PC ) resolutions under display, but when I select ANYTHING from the ( HD , SD section ) I can't see part of the screen/ start bar ec etc )

The tv is Philips 32PFL3506/F7 32-Inch 720p 60Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

Even at 60hz / 720p as the resolution in setup, I cant see all of the screen, and without selecting a HD connection the highest resolution I can access in games and desktop is 1360x768.

I tried checking my Menu-Setup and there are barely any options on this TV, and I saw nothing for OVERSCAN as someone else suggested turning off?

    Any help would be huge!

Update: I read something about a service menu and overscan, but it seems that the methods on the internet, 062596 than the info button or the menu button, are not entering the service menu. I am dying to get a better resolution here guys.

My first thought is that - since the TV is only 720p (720 scan lines) - it may be incapable of displaying true 1080 settings.

The second thing to check is if your TV has a format or aspect ratio setting in the set-up menu. Are you using a universal remote? If so, you may have to use the OEM remote to access these settngs. Play around with this; it may fix the overscan issue.

    Hope this helps. :)

I tried all this and i was able to FIT the screen, but when it goes over 1366x760 it lowers the HERTZ to 20hz, which makes it unbarable to even look at, I am thinking that the TV cannot display anything over that reso without lowering the hertz bellow 60?

But my main issue is that in some games i can run 1920x1080 , (not my desktop) but some games are fine.

In EVE ONLINE, when i go higher than the 1366x760 or whatever the UI etc all gets thrown off-screen and it drives me crazy, any idea?

Your specs can be found here for the TV:

    http://www.usa.philips.com/c/televi...ital-tv-32pfl3506_f7/prd/en/?t=specifications

My best educated guess is that the panel resolution is limited to 1366 x 768 by design. The specs also dictate that your supported resolutions are as follows:

    Computer formats: 640 x 480, 60Hz, 720 x 480, 60Hz, 800 x 600, 60Hz, 1024 x 768, 60Hz, 1280 x 768, 60Hz, 1360 x 768, 60Hz

Unfortunately, you are hemmed in by manufacturing limitations.

A shot in the dark here. Try the various Hz settings abobe 60 and see if one does it for you.
