OK, I give up, somebody told me this a really good site if you have problems:)

    I have a new build:

    MSI K8T Neo FSR
    Athlon 64 3000+
    2 x 512Mb 3200 DDR 400 RAM (matched)
    Radeon 9600XT 256 Mb
    1 x Maxtor 160Gb 7200 HD (XP Pro)
    1 x Maxtor 60Gb 7200 (Fedora Core 3 64 Bit)
    Soundblaster Audigy 1.

In my old box I had the Audigy 1 drivered as an Audigy 2, no problems.

This machine will not even recognise the Card. I have sound and Device Manager shows Creative Audigy Processor (WDM).

No matter what drivers I try to install, (including the original CD), it tells me that there is no soundblaster found. I cannot install any of the software either.

I have disabled onboard sound, cleaned, re-seated etc, all the usual trouble shooting steps.

As I said I have sound, but it's very frustrating because I don't like unresolved issues.

    Ideas anyone? :)

    Done and done.

Even when I go on Creatives' site for an update it says I have no Creative products..........but I've got sound.

    Random and weird!

You tried any drivers from driverguide.com or another source?

I think by now I'd be emailing Creative!!!

which PCI slot are you using? in my experience with my Audigy Platinum EX, it likes the 2nd slot from the bottom best for IRQ assignment.

also, i'm sure you've tried, but be certian the card is fully seated and secured tightly.

if you have the 2nd card for the EX that just uses a pci slot (not a pci card), make sure you have the floppy-type power cable plugged into it.

in a rare occasion, my nvidia graphics driver interfered with the Creative driver, so i had to uninstall the graphics driver before installing the sound driver... i dont know if that could help, but it once worked for me?

Maybe windows has thrown in some drivers it thinks are right so now its recognized as something its not,Try booting in safe mode deleting the driver uninstalling the device then upon reboot let windows search for the drivers on the cd,if youv tried this sry!
