Issues with Firefox and Downloading

When I click on a File to download it. Page after Page opens up in a new tab

Not sure why but I have to hit Stop a couple times and then close out of all these pages. I was able to download from Internet Explorer.

I can download from downloads.com in Firefox with no problems at all

 

Is it site specific, sounds like your refer to Major Geeks downloads?????

You could try this.

I had a similar problem, you need to shut down firefox and locate your profile folder. The one in user/app data. Delete the downloads.rdf file located either there or one of its folders. When you start FF back up it will regenerate. and the dls should work

Also might try using default profile in Firfox before any changes were made.

 

The big question is, what addons are installed?

 

The only Addon is the Mozzilla Talk She had no other addons.

I dont have a downloads.rdf

Im checking out the Diagnostics Page Tomorrow.

 

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do. Im Running Windows Vista on that Laptop.

I tried Running Firefox in its Safemode and I still Receive the Problem

 

Yeah I found it about a week ago. And I also Posted on Mozillazine

I deleted the Downloads.rdf File and I am still Experiencing the Problem.

I also Tried The suggestions in the Articles and Still no Go.
