IT Logbook program

I am working in a company with several other IT people. We desperately need a program that will allow us to log common problems and what we needed to do to fix the problem. The program should be accessible by multiple users at the same time, and searchable.

We used to have 3 ring binders when I did this in the Navy that we put troubleshooting info in, but it seems like there should be a software solution that would work for this.

Any ideas?

I would suggest a word/spreadsheet to track your work flow. Leave it on the server for others to use. Maybe someone else has a better idea, but I have done such in the past.

We have thought of this, but are looking for something that will allow for an easy search after several years of input. The spreadsheet would work - just not an ideal solution for us right now.

Why not use a bulletin board software, such as this one? I've done work for companies that use either vBulletin or phpBB on closed servers - very secure, practically real-time, and infinitely customizable.
