It's encrypted! OH NOOO!

Due to a virus or Trojan or something, I had to reload all the programs on this computer. I backed-up my OUTLOOK 2003 contacts to a floppy as a 265 KB "OUTLOOKHOTMAIL-00000003 backup Office Data File" (that's what it says) before I reformatted the hard-drive. That's all there is on the floppy.

I was proud of myself. I'm a newbie!

Then I reloaded all the stuff from my discs (from dell). Everything got its own updates and registering and all that stuff, again.

The email may have been the source of the Bad Thing? but it could have come from a bad web-site. I don't know. I have NORTON FIREWALL and NORTON ANTI-VIRUS. When they expire I'll try the stuff you folks say is good, and free. The e-mail program didn't falter alone. I just couldn't use the computer till I reformatted the hard-drive.

When I tried to reload the contacts from the floppy into OUTLOOK, I discovered they were encrypted or something on the floppy. I didn't mean to encrypt it and haven't encrypted anything ever before. Maybe it's an automatic encryption?

Anyway, I can't figure out how to get the contacts decrypted and reloaded into the OUTLOOK 2003. The same OUTLOOK as before. All the programs are the same ones that came with this computer.

I have a DELL DIMENSION 8300 running XP PRO and the MICROSOFT OFFICE 2003 suite with TOOLS, WORD, EXCEL, and OUTLOOK.

I've opened the data on the disc using Notepad, Wordpad and Microsoft Office Word. The stuff I see looks like I think encryption would.

There's a lot more on the disc. I tried to attach the unzipped file from the floppy but it seams to be an invalid file. Maybe it's too big. I Zipped it to 78KB and included it as an attachment on this post.
