what will probably help the stock heatsink the most is cleaning. Take a can of compressed air and shoot it in the heatsink over the CPU to clear out all the dust. Is that fan the only one you have? do you have one in the back?

I concur clean out the heatsink with compressed air (dont turn the can upside down and point it at urself though) Make sure that your cpu fan is seated properly on the cpu itself, im guessing its a 478 pin not LGA 775, sometimes over time the thermal paste does "burn" off and in that case you can buy some pretty cheap online or at a store like BestBuy, Also make sure cables are blocking upt he flow of air to your CPU. Compressed air can be bought at BestBuy or Staples (im sure other palces as well).

I have a clip on fan that is pointed at my tower that seems to help keep my internal temp a little lower. At any rate, it blows cooler air at the heated cabinet and that has to count for something.
