I uninstalled iTunes, downloaded new iTunes75setup.exe, but it stops saying that a newer version of Quicktime is installed! After uninstalling, deleiting everything I could think of, I went to regedit and deleted every itunes, quicktime and ipod I found.
I got same result: ´a newer version of Quicktime exists´.
I tried then to install Quicktime alone and got: ´cannot remove old version of Quicktime, contact your administrator.

Now I know what frustration means.
    Please Help.

Risk Reversal, thank you but didn´t work.
I did: Control Panel , iTunes, iPod Updater, not present.
    Quicktime uninstall, not found.
    Quictimeinstallerhelper.dll, not found.
Windows explorer, deleted all ocurrences of Apple, iPod, iTunes, and Quicktime.

In one site, don´t remember wich, I´ve read that I should delete the whole branch in a certain point of regedit where the ocurrence of QuickTime appears, but, having already deleted the word, cannot identify it anymore.

In meantime I was following the kist you suggested, an application with updated iPod files started automatically, and of course it sopped saying it found errors.

As per any try to install QuickTime says an older version cannot be uninstalled, there must be traces of the old program left, but where and under wich name?

Also, and sorry for the non pertinent question, my restore calendar only goes to the beginning of December whe I already had this problem. How do I KEEP restore points back on time?

    Thank You for your help.

amolari, I cannot help any further in that I am not an iTunes specialist. I only know about iTunes and iPods for my children.

The only advice I can give you is to post in one of the iTunes forums that I linked above and perhaps one of the Moderators can help. Unless someone here of course can help.

My I also give you some advice which is as follows:

    1. Never, ever uninstall anything on your pc [especially something like iTunes], without first asking a question in a relevant forum about how to proceed.

    2. Never, ever delete anything from your registry without either copying the key, branch or entire registry first.

    Good Luck
