hey, I am almost completely out of ideas at the moment regarding my problem! I have downloaded "the silence of the lambs" audiobook from iTunes, which is in the M4B format. I wish to listen to this book on my MP3 player and need to convert it and remove the DRM. I have tried using JHymn and it continually gives me an error message regarding an unexpected end to the zlib stream when contacting the music store. Anyone who can help me to convert this (using free software please)?

I suppose you could try renaming the extension to .m4a.
