I feel like a bit of a naive idiot. I bought Frozen off iTunes for the kids, legitimately, and the PC is Authorised in iTunes. Is there any way I can actually remove the DRM from the .m4v file and burn the movie to a DVD?

I obviously have no issues playing it in iTunes, and transferred it to my iPhone with the issues either, but the DRM is preventing me from burning it to DVD.

Unfortunately, not legally, there isn't. Its in the licensing part of the download that it can't be copied.

There's some DRM removal software out there...mostly shareware (paid) I believe and I can't tell you for sure that they actually work. If you do a search, you'll probably find tons of hits on it.

Most actual DVDs also come with the digital version as well....just fyi for future reference.

Anyway, if you want my opinion, your best bet is to just spend your money on a streaming device like a Roku (won't play iTunes, but plays every other service), Apple TV (won't play Amazon content), Amazon Fire TV, or Google Chromecast (cheap at $35, but streams from your laptop or computer). You can find them all listed on Amazon. I think the first three are all around $99...the Roku, you might be able to get an older version for cheaper.

Licencing is a nightmare and there is a push in both USA and UK to make copying or ripping of legally obtained media legal for personal use if you own the original media, BUT sadly its not yet there, you can rip media but legally its a no no, and we cannot advise the options to do so, you can search for them, but some as Laura points out can come with malware, so user beware.

Thanks - that's what I suspected. And having bought it legally off iTunes I'd prefer to keep it legal. It still sucks though!

I totally agree with you and fair usage rights should apply.

Is a legal minefield. Personally I think the way to go is that IF you have bought either physically or online media they you have the rights to rip to other media players.
