    Hey Guys,

Just got a new laptop. 64bit

Installed iTunes 8, i use a wireless broadband connection, and when i click on the itunes store it says.

"iTunes could not connect to the iTunes store. The Network connection timed out."

Any ideas on what i can do?

Well my first question is do you have a firewall ? If so you may have have to configure it to allow things. Do you have all the current updates as far as software? What OS are you using?

    Hi

Do you get the same message when going to wedsites at all or just in iTunes, as if just iTunes it could be just that after xmas with many new ipods and iphones sold that the iTunes server is overloaded, I get this time to time, just try later.

If you have a software firewall installed check that its not blocking iTunes.

Some support fro Apple on connection issues http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1527

I've gone into my firewall settings and ticked the box to allow iTunes. I'm running windows vista.
As far as i know i have all the updates.

Its only iTunes that is affected, it works on my Desktop PC at work, but not my laptop at home.

    Any other ideas?

    Hi

Could you post part of the diagnostics report from iTunes, open iTunes and click Help > Run Diagnostic and untick all bar the Network option and run, once finished just need info from Active Connection: down.

    Sample of mine....

What is your firewall make if not the built in one in Vista, which one is it?

    Hi

Cheers for feedback and fix, likely your new laptop came with Norton you removed it, however it does leave some files which could block specific apps, so thanks as it helps us ask another question to similar issue.
