    I hope there are no bets involved. iTunes is for 2K and XP only. Foobar, Winamp, and Quintessential player have iPod support capabilities and run on 98. That's the closest you will get to your quest, unfortunately. http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

    The earliest versions (pre 4.5) were Mac only. There has never been support for 98/ME.
