so i recently reformatted my computer, and I had my itunes library saved to an external drive. I copied all my music back over to my c: and then proceeded to delete it off the external. Now when i go into itunes to play songs, it says it cant locate the file and if I would like to locate it. I guess because I had originally added them to itunes from the external, not from my c:

All the songs are on my computer, itunes is just looking in the wrong spot for them. I have been slowly re pointing itunes to there correct location, but is there any way to automate this process or do it faster?

    Hi

Did you save the actual library file as in the library.xml file? and re-save the actual music files (mp3, aac) to the same folder location that they where originally in?

I personally found that iTunes is horrid for moving and re-creating your master library and playlists, and that its much easier to start again and clear the library and just re drag and drop your music folder back to iTunes to re-create the library. I had to do it this way last time I re-installed Windows.
