Itunes not seeing Ipod

Hi. What ipod and operating system are you using?

Is it only itunes that's not showing? Do you see your ipod in 'My Computer' when it's plugged in (if it's an itouch, you won't, but any others and you should)?

 

Do you have the latest version of iTunes?
If so, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes (you will Not lose your songs by doing this)?

Did you go through the troubleshooting from the link I gave you, including making sure nothing is conflicting with it?

Btw, does the ipod function normally otherwise?

 

If you have another computer, you should also see if it shows up on that one and make sure it isn't the ipod.

Try another cord if you haven't done so already and another usb port (just to get the basics out of the way)
