itunes problem

when i dragged the video i wanted to drag into the library, the video shows and played for 6 minutes but the video was suppose to be 3 minutes. the extra minutes showed the video but no sound was played. and when i played the video outside of itunes it played for 3 minutes. is there a way to fix it?

 

hmm, the video is only 3 minutes? what type of video is it? could just be something funny about the format or w/e. if it plays fine in another player, then maybe an update to quicktime/itunes.

 

i used format factory to convert it to mp4 which plays on the ipod, and i been using format factory for my other videos before i updated itunes and it plays normally

 

I have had the same problem as have others. I also use Format Factory. A few others have had issues with some other transcoding software. (see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10196245) I've tried playing with the transcoding settings...no luck. I've tried completely rmoving all apple stuff and re-installing....no luck. I have found 2 free vid conversion software programs not affected, videora and handbrake. Both are good but a lot slower. They can even take a vid with this error and re-encode it so it doesn't have it. Basically what it comes down to is I think iTunes 9 is ridiculously buggy. I hope they issue a patch soon. any other info would be very much welcome. I really like format factory.
