Itunes problems

I already went through the malware removal stuff and no problems showed up. What's happening is...everytime I open Itunes, my computer becomes unresponsive and the only way to turn it off is to unplug it...can't open task manager or anything. :cry

 

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling? Itunes updates?

 

I've uninstalled and reinstalled several times..also have tried an earlier version...no go. This is really aggravating b/c I need to use iTunes for my iphone.

 

When you reinstalled did you delete the folder and all previously installed apps and such out of the itunes folder? perhaps its an app/music/document thats causing issues. Also have you tried to update quicktimes as well? Itunes relies on quicktime a bunch.

 

I haven't tried reinstalling quicktime or anything with it. I have uninstalled itunes using revo uninstaller, so I assume it deleted everything.

 

I would try quicktime first, I dont know what revo would uninstall more then the regular installer either. I think it might be an app or something thats loaded thats messing things up?

 

uninstalled quicktime and reinstalled itunes. opened itunes and it froze...tried again and it didn't freeze, but it wouldn't/couln't connect to itunes server

 

Have you had your computer checked for malware or anything? And is itunes the only app thats freezing?

 

yes, I went through the "malware removal" steps with the other "majorgeeks" first and they said I was clean. Yes, Itunes is the only app that is freezing.

 

okay it's not freezing anymore. Not sure what happened, but not freezing...however, it shows I'm connected to the internet, but says it cannot connect to the server so it cannot update my iphone or anything
