itunes questions

Hi I'm waaay behind on the whole itunes thing and there are just a few questions?

I've heard that Itunes sells movies, tv shows and podacsts...can I download and watch these things on my PC even if I don't have an ipod or is iTunes only for use with ipod?

Also reading through some other threads and comments...ITunes can import from CD and put song you bought on iTunes on your ipod...but can you use MP3's your not importing directly from a disk? Like do you have total freedom over what you want on you iPOD or does iTunes restrict anything?

Hi

Yes to your first question, you dont need an iPod or iPhone to view and play media in iTunes.

Yes you can add mp3s that you didnt download from apple or rip from CD into the iTunes Library (just open the folder with the mp3s and drag and drop them into the iTunes Library), indeed you can have total freedom on what you want on your iPod, only restrictions are that if its a movie then your iPod has to be able to handle movie files, some do some dont.

As for adding what you want on your ipod then I do this as I have both an iPod Touch and iPhone, but want different things on either of them, so I put all my music into the main Library and create Playlists for both these devices and only put in the playlist what I want from the main Library.
