XP Home SP3... iTunes is listed in the Add/Remove Programs list but is nowhere else on the PC; it is not in the Program Files folder. Quicktime is completely corrupt also and can't be uninstalled or reinstalled (same with iTunes). I tried Revo, but it gives such a massive list of registry/hard drive entries that it has me freaked out. A screen shot is attached of the QuickTime install/uninstall error(s).

Problem solved. Apparently, the Windows Installer had been corrupted. I used the installer cleanup tool on the iTunes and QuickTime and Bonjour entries, then used the latest installer redistributable to 'rebuild' the Windows installer service, then I installed iTunes and Quicktime, and it went very smoothly. So if anyone gives a :crap... that's what I did, but judging from the lack of hits (11 in about 2 days LOL ) nobody really cares!

    Hi dlb

Think folk do care, just depends on who opens/views the thread to whether they have a fix for this, but many thanks for taking the time to post the resolution as it may help someone else searching on same issue as you titled your question correctly for easy searching.

    Here's a step-by-step of what I did:
    1. Download the Windows Installer CleanUp tool using Halo's link above. Install it and run it. You may need to click Start > All Programs > Windows Installer CleanUp.
    2. You will get a window with a bunch of programs listed: highlight QuickTime and click 'Remove'; highlight iTunes and click 'Remove'; highlight Bonjour and click 'Remove'. If you also have the Apple Updater listed, remove it also.
    3. Download and install the latest Microsoft's Windows Installer Redistributable. You can download it from here. Install it, and restart the PC when it's done.
    4. Download new copies of QuickTime and iTunes and install 'em.
    That should do it!!

    :-D
