well, i am running XP Pro, and when i DL'd it, (itunes), and re-DL'd it over and over again this message pops up- "windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" i have probly downloaded this thing at least 8 times, and its a no go... i have Zone Alarm, AVG spyware, AVG 7.5 and have permitted access on all of them and STILL a no go. i have admin access, and this is starting to royally piss me off, since i just spent like 300$ on a new ipod. GRR..

Any help would be appreciated... Please? Anyone?

    Hi

Did iTunes actaully install and that message on permissions is coming up when trying to use iTunes and add music?

If so try this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1387?viewlocale=en_US ( XP Instructions are below the MAC ones )

Also disable your security software if its an issue on install and make sure your logged in as the admin.

    Hi

Good on iTunes but is it working with ZoneAlarm enabled now?

As for the iTunes not recognising the music when the DVD is out, this is normal as iTunes has the track name in the library, but once the DVD is out of the drive it cannot find the full original file, to get around this best option is to have a folder say called "iTunes Music Library" on your HD and copy all the tracks to that ( this way you will not get that message unless you move that folder or delete the original mp3 tracks off your HD ) delete all the track listings in iTunes you have now then add the new ones from the newly created folder by drag and dropping the folder you created into iTunes main library window.

Hey no worries on the questions, only dumb if you dont ask them and you're very welcome.
