I've downloaded the File w/ Bittorrent, do i need to let it upload?

Ok, I just downloaded Knoppix through Bittorrent. My connection is a slow cable connection, so this took like 8 hrs.( Its a 700mb file) Its finally done. Now my question is, do I need to let it upload? Because if I do, its going to be a loooooooong night.

You didn't have to download it from BIT.. you could have gotten it on their site

no, you dont have to let it upload to other users, You have the complete file... but that is how bit torrent works.... the more people that DO allow uploads from their completed files, the faster others can download.

 

Ok, thanks guys. When I went to look for it, it was not there. and then i "thought" i found it, and tried to burn it. it didnt work. Ill just have my friend make a copy of his download. Oh, i and i used bittorrent as a last resort.

 

Ok, just giving you an update. I finally got Knoppix. Linux is the most wick'D thing Ive ever run on this comp. Im on such tech high!!! whew.....................
