I cannot access this safe website: www.soccer-dog.com, I get this message:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

    Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
    The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

    What you can try:
    Diagnose Connection Problems

    More information

I have not been able to access this site for months now, in fact I cannot remember the last time I've been able to access it. I have a brand new computer and tried accessing the site before I loaded any blocking software like norton or safe eyes and still get the above message. I've talked to tech support from safe eyes, norton, knology, even belkin and still cannot access the site. It's perfectly safe and I do need to get to it.

    HELP!

Am running VISTA on new HP cpu

    I just accessed it.

Do you have problems with other websites or just this one?

Blocked by your ISP's DNS server? Try setting up OpenDNS and accessing it via their DNS servers.

DNS is the method of finding the websites typed into the address bar, it translates addresses into the IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx format and enables you to see the correct site. Each ISP usually has its own server(s), if they're not setup correctly, there will be errors like yours.

Follow the instructions from here to change your DNS servers.

    Hi

Also use CCLeaner and run its Cleaner tool to remove temps and cookies, a corrupt file in those areas can cause this.

You mentioned that this is a new computer. Did the problem start with this computer or with the previous computer?

75.126.129.48 is the address of the site
Do you get the same error if you type these numbers into your address bar?
You mention belkin...are you using a belkin router? If so, what model. Maybe your router is preventing you from reaching the site.
To test this, hook a computer directly to the modem, bypassing the router. Can you get to the site that way?

We just tried what you said and VOILA! I CAN SEE THE SITE!!!!!. Yes it is a Belkin F5D7230-4 Wireless G router. Is it time for a new one or a different router?

    Not sure.
It could be your ISP. Your ISP takes what you type in and changes it to a number.
They might be translating www.soccer-dog.com incorrectly and trying to send you to a non-existent site.
For the time being, I'd just use the numerical address.

Contact your ISP and tell them they might have a DNS problem (fancy way of saying translate the words into a numerical address)> Give them the address and the numbers. They might be able to fix this so you can use your bookmark to get into the site.

If you get other sites you can not see, you can download a tiny bit of free sofware which will translate the words into the correct numbers. This is what I used
    http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptlookup.asp

You'd simply type the www address into the top box and click the discombobulate button. Below the numbers appear.

    Hi CONNIE Y,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

Can you please tell me which Norton product and version you have installed?

Also, make sure that you do not have any other third-part, real-time security applications installed besides Norton, as you may be experiencing a software conflict. If you are using Norton Internet Security or Norton 360, you will want to make sure that the Windows Firewall is disabled, as the Norton Firewall will handle this for you.

    Thank you,
    Mike

or your dns could be corrupt.

    another thing to try:

ipconfig /flushdns (from the command prompt)

    try again.
