IwEngInit Failed

The above message occurs following the loss both of the web browser and the uninstall feature (information) of ie 4.0 such that the uninstall and repair tools in the Add/Remove program have disappeared. This fault is documented both on Google and Microsoft Knowledge Base but no solution applicable to this unique fault is offered. It has nonetheless been suggested to either reformat the hard disk or add to the ie 4.0 folder the missing component (Uninstall Feature/information). The ie 4.0 CD in hand is unfortunately Internet-linked, and in any case there seems no download available for ie 4.0 from either Microsoft or any other dowenload sites. Are there any members still running ie 4.0?

Yes. The Windows 95 computer is specially configured to using Microsoft Office 95 Pro for Chinese word processing and publishing, and ie 4.0 is suited to this type of vintage computer. I have ie 5.5 installed on Windows 98SE and Windows Me though.
