Java 32bit and 64bit?

I am having issues with Java.

    Windows 7 Pro
    Intel 2 Quad 2.40GHz
    8GB RAM
    64Bit

OS was Vista and I upgraded with Windows 7 after it came out. I have no recollection of having to deal with Java or like issues. It's just always worked. Like magic.

AVG reported that C:\Program Files\Java had been infected. I uninstalled Java (listed plainly as Java in Programs listing) and manually deleted the Java folder entirely.

Restarted. The Control Panel Programs listing did not have Java listed. But in the Control Panel there was an invalid icon titled Java. Made a shortcut in attempt to find the .cpl file. It was linked Java.exe that was in C:\Program Files\Java instead. Was not able to remove the invalid icon. Went on to App Data and deleted any folder titled Java.

Restarted and downloaded an installer of Version 6 Update 18 of Java. Ran it and read out like this: Program is already installed, would you like to reinstall it? I selected yes and the program read out: "Option only valid for already installed products". Not a great answer. I ran CCleaner for Temp files and Reg errors.

Restarted, again and tried to reinstall. Same results. I downloaded a fresh installer from the Java website and tried once more. Same results. I went and download the 64bit Java installer and tried that. It installed fine and the blank Java icon in the Control Panel linked to C:\Program Files (x86)\Java. The installer did not mention Java 64 already installed and created the new folder as it was not there in that directory already.

Restarted and ran the Java 32 installer, same as always.

Restarted again and Firefox, IE (32 and 64) and Chrome while checking the Java Test Page. Firefox, Chrome and IE (32) reported Java needed to be installed. I understand why Chrome and IE (32) have this error but not Firefox? Is Firefox only 32bit?

I continued with IE 64 and tried to install JTablet. A Java plugin used for drawing in apps like PaintChat or Artgrounds.com. I tried to test to it out several times at the JTablet Test Page. The app window loads however it does not have pressure sensitivity. I check the tablet software and hardware, it
    s definitely Java.

This is where I am now (frustrated may i add) and I could use some help as I have no idea what to do. The Java website states you should install both 32 and 64 however 32 will not install and it seems that 64 is having some issues too.

    Hi

Download JavaRa http://majorgeeks.com/JavaRA_d5982.html then with any open browser closed run it and let it remove any java versions, the double check in add/remove and uninstall any java listed, the run ccleaner and its cleaner and registry options (run the registry one until nothing is found) then reboot and install both java versions again

It worked! Both versions are installed and JTablet works just fine. Thanks so much! :D
