I was having to click on a sign that came up everytime I'd do a puzzle online, about it being safe or not...did I still want to continue. I would click yes and the sign would disappear.
I tried updating Java and now that sign doesn't come up on some of them anymore and they work BUT there are 2 puzzle websites (that I use regularly) that now won't work. A sign comes up that says 'browser does not support Java technology or a newer version is required- please install Java Runtime Environment to be able to play Jigsaw. I did, and those 2 still won't work.
The Java update I downloaded was Java 7 Update 21 64 bit.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium and Internet Explorer Version 8

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Rhondarolleyes

We are in a similar issue at work. Our dispatch computers require java 6u31 to be installed, otherwise the state software does not work. Only work around I know of is to virutalize a browser and just use a certain java version with it. We use Vmware thinapp. I know this is not what you want, but perhaps someone else can chime in on this situation.

A lot of places on the internet are saying just get rid of Java, there is no need. That is NOT the case in the enterprise.

Microsoft APP-V might be another choice, but again, I don't think it is free.

I just went to jigsawplanet. It works on a computer without Java. I tried it also on the one computer with Java installed but disabled and it works there too. So from those two computers, I assume the problem is not Java related; it is something else.

You need to have javascript running.
Note: Java and javascript are too entirely different things.

When I went to download Javascript- one of the steps was ENABLE radio button. I clicked tools- internet options-security-local internet custom level but can't find one on the list of choices that even mentions the word 'radio'.:confused

You cannot download JavaScript; it is part of your browser. Make sure JS is enabled in your browser; see http://support.microsoft.com/gp/howtoscript

As plodr wrote, you do not need Java to run your jigsaw puzzles.
