JAVA buttons won't work on web pages

Hi anyone/all,

First, apologies for not knowing the correct/technical terms.

I have been having major issues with loading web pages. Firstly Yahoo would just load a blank white page, and other web pages (such as those to do internet banking etc..) the buttons wouldn't work (i.e: enter information and then press the 'enter' or 'load' or 'delete' buttons and nothing happens on the page, it doesn't advance or you can't enter the web site etc...).

I read as many posts as I could here, and have managed to get Yahoo mail to work, however the 'button' issue/problem is still there. On the internet banking site I use I have done the 'test your browser' and it comes up with a diagnostic that tells me I do not have java enabled (although I do).

I have uninstalled Java, also have used Windows Install Cleanup (as advised on here in other messages similar to mine). Have downloaded Java from the official site and done the offline installation. Still tells me that it is not enabled on the internet banking web page.

I have also run Winsock Fix (as advised again in a similar topic area of someone having problems with Java). ..and hope I haven't made the problem worse!

I'd wager you have more of a javascript problem than a java problem.

try this.

Start, run, regsvr32.exe jscript.dll

Click ok, it should succeed.

Reboot, and try again.
