Java.exe problem

I've read as many other threads on this forum as I could as to how I could fix the problem myself. Nothing seems to work.

I cannot seem to run Java at all. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, used registry cleaners, disk cleaners(CCcleaner), used JavaRa to uninstall old versions, and restarted the computer. I even turned off ClearType.

It won't run in Firefox nor Explorer. Going to the control panel and trying to open java gets me the javaw.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close message.

It's only been doing this for about 2 months now. The only option I can't do at the moment is to reinstall the OS over again as it was put in by a computer guy when my hard drive failed a year ago.(don't have discs)

Nothing major stands out in your Hijackthis log but if this is malware, sadly Hijackthis does not show all malware, all it shows is startups and BHOs (browser helper objects) etc so is not a do all app. I take it Verizon is your ISP?

Try this and make sure any Java version you have been using are uninstalled, using Add/Remove, or JavaRa or both, then run CCLeaner and its cleaner and then registry cleaner, run the registry one until nothing shows for removal then install Java from HERE and reboot.

I have yet to try the malware removal links you provided there but I did the one quoted above. The moment the install was done to put java pack on the computer after your suggestions, the "java.exe has encountered a problem and shut down" came up almost instantly.
