JAVA gui help needed

Hey all,
Im pretty much a beginer at Java and need help laying things out in my program.

I want to set a TextField to have more than one row, so TextField(25) would give a TextField with 25 columns but how do I show 25 rows and say, 10 columns?

Also can I set a Panel to have a specific size and place it in a specific place on my program?

 

I believe its JTextField(rows, cols);

not 100% but if that dosent work try using a jTextArea();
