Hello Everyone: I went to verify what version of java I had on my pc and it stated it could not find it so I looked in programs and features and Uninstalled it, then reinstalled and now when I go to install it, it states I already have java do I want to install the new one anyway and I said yes, then a screen came up and said you can only install over a previous version and would not install it, Its a loop thing,
How can I get out of this loop and install Java on this pc I'm using windows 7 64bit ? Thanks

Ok Guys Thanks, I am going away for the weekend and will continue your instructions when I get back, but I did click on the verify my java and this is what it says>>

    Verify Java Version

We are unable to verify if Java is currently installed and enabled in your browser.

If you have installed Java and there is an error with the verification, there could be a configuration issue (eg. browser, Java control panel, security settings).

This is what I got before, get back with you guys next week, Thanks again

If you have installed Java and there is an error with the verification, there could be a configuration issue (eg. browser, Java control panel, security settings).

    Windows 8?

Because Java does not work if you are using the modern version of the browser, only the desktop version.

Make sure you are installing the correct version. 64 bit browsers require 64 bit java. 32 """"".

I had 32 bit on this pc before and I was told you have to install both 32 and 64
That's where my trouble began when I installed the 64 bit

I am going to Uninstall the version I just put on here and once again see if a reinstall will work and at the same time Verify what version, will get back to you guys.

Keep in mind that I am also referring to the browser. A 32 bit OS can obviously only use 32 bit anything, but a 64 bit OS still needs 32 bit Java if the browser is 32 bit (and most are).

There are two reasons why I can't test: a) I don't have IE 10 installed on either windows 7 computers (64 bit Home Premium and 32 bit Pro) and b) I do not have Java installed and I'm not willing to install it.

Since I don't have IE 10 installed, I can't tell you exactly where in the browser to look but I will tell you where you'd look in IE 9 and perhaps it will give you a clue.
    Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab.
Scroll through and look for anything that says "enable java". You want to be sure it is enabled, otherwise the Java website will tell you that it can't determine whether it is installed or not.

Java also put an icon in your control panel. Click on it and the Security tab. At the top it will say Enable java content in the browser. You want to briefly enable that so you can check what version of java is installed.

I found this also for IE 9, perhaps it will help in 10.

Ok, I have two versions on my pc one is called "java 7 update 21 (64bit)
and the other is java(tm)6 update 21(does not say what bit here)

Java is enabled in the control panel and so are the java applets

But I still cannot verify what version Is on my windows 7 with IE 10

Its on my pc but don't work in my banking account but it does work with google Cannot figure out what is wrong any other suggestions? Thanks

I found this suggestion from late April in a thread where someone could not get IE 10 in Win 7 to run Java.
Try this for your bank site.

Thank You but it did not work, so I uninstalled IE 10 and thought it would revert me back to IE 9 but it did not I got IE 8
instead, so I went to my bank using IE 8 and it worked perfectly, so I went back to try to install IE 9 but every time I clicked on the Download but it changed to IE 10 again, so I reinstalled IE 10 but I am now back where I started the bank is still not working right?
This is a tough one, any other idea's I will try them? Thanks
