Java/JavaScript problem.

I use one website that gives me a problem when I access one of the functions on one of its web pages. According to website support people they are doing a lot of JavaScript at the point of failure. When I told them that my Java software was up-to-date they told me that it was JavaScripting not Java that was being used and they thought the problem was being caused by my ISP... despite the fact that their website is the only place I have incurred the problem. My ISP's only suggestion is for me to reinstall their software. I am now awaiting shipment of their software. I don't think I am getting to the root of the problem dealing with them... Hopefully, one of you guys can help.

I use dial-up AOL as my ISP. I have Java Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_b05) installed. When I check contol panel/Add or Delete Programs, I have the following:
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2, and
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

Can anyone help me eliminate my problem? Thanks.

You don't have the current version of Java.
It is Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9
The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications.
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
...and you can uninstall your other versions...you only need the latest.
