    Do you have Firefox 1.0?

Go to Tools, Options and then check that these are "checked:

http://www.mozilla.org/projects/help-viewer/docs/firebird/prefs.html This says to be sure that you have both of these checked in the preferences box under Web Features Options:

    Quote from site:
    Enable Java
Java is a popular programming language for the web developed by Sun Microsystems. ... Uncheck this option to disable Java applets in Firefox. Note that in order for Java applets to work, you must install the Java plugin.

    Enable JavaScript
JavaScript is a scripting language commonly used to construct web pages. JavaScript is often used to dynamically validate forms and select buttons. Disabling JavaScript may cause some sites to not work properly.

While it is usually recommended to keep JavaScript enabled, there are some functions that you may want to disable. Click the Advanced... button to display these options.
    (end of quote)
(I can't get any of the quotes, smilies, bold, underline, etc. thingies to work in a post while using Firefox -- go figure)

Sorry if I've missed something but can you open up Internet Explorer at all?
If so, go to Tools, Internet Options, Program tab, at the bottom is the box to check that say "IE should check to see whether it is the default browser"

You can also (in the same place) click on the rectangle saying "Manage Add-ons" and see what it says about SUN JAVA that you've put on -- or haven't -- or whatever -- see how IE is "reading" it anyway.

But maybe you're not able to open up IE? I'm not sure from your post...

    I got it , thanks. . .
I was missing reg keys for firefox and the sun java

    they just ran away. . . . .
I will have to reinstall them

    and remove javavm again
