    Hi all,
I have a Family Tree program that links to a webpage created by it displaying Family Tree details.
You can see and do various things here. One option is to view " Internet Tree " , click on it and it brings up a popup " java" ? box, that should / did contain a interactive tree diagram.
This no longer works. all I get in the box is...
    parseFile: Exception: access denied (java.net.SocketPermission 66.43.28.21 :80 connect,resolve)
I hope that one of you understands this and can assist , if possible , as I haven't a clue.:confused
I have enabled the java console to list and log and can copy to here(hopefully) if it is needed. Haven't shown yet as it goes on even more than I do !
    Thanks , hopefully to all.

you can delete java off the system manually by going into safe mode,C/documents-settings,your user account, application data, delete sun(java)folder, then navigate to c/program files, delete java folder, restart in normal mode, then run this http://majorgeeks.com/Windows_Installer_CleanUp_Utility_d4459.html to remove any java entries you may see(usually the java updater and or the java version you want to remove)then run CCleaners registry tool http://majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Slim_d4191.html repeatedly until "no issues are found"this will remove dozens of orphaned java entries ,restart again ,then install latest java:re.http://www.majorgeeks.com/Sun_Java_Runtime_Environment_d4648.html

    I sincerly thank you all,
I have followed all your sugestions went through all methods, and have totaly messed up. Must be my fault somehow ! Did manage to find java on p.c. However none of the methods would remove it. Thought it was gone , until I went to reinstale , I was told it was there and did I want to overight it, yes, it go's back to reistaling, then stops again saying I have to go to add/remove. Do this and it does not remove. did this a few times went around in circles.
As of now java does nothing at all , instead of not working properly , instead of getting "meesage" that is in first post I get nothing at all and I am constantly aksed to allow Ativex that explorer is blocking.
java does not apear in bottom right of screen at all.
Really rather ashamed of myself for creating such a mess somehow , while you have all tried to help . So sincere thanks for trying and Ile just go down the back garden and bury my head, might help it somwhate.

It looks like you are using Internet Explorer?
    If so, which version?

You might have better luck with Firefox or Opera, but it seems that there is still a problem with Java.
I suggest that you refrain from using the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility again as it can cause problems.

It may help to Reverse the changes made so far and begin again.
Do you have System Restore enabled???
Do you have any other type of backups??

You did not mention when the problem began or how long this problem has been going on.

If you have a Restore Point (System Restore) from Before the onset of this problem, using that restore point could be a good option.
If you Are able to do this and get it working again, I would suggest doing a proper uninstall of Java,
so that you will be able to get a clean install of the latest version.

You can use Add or Remove programs or Revo Uninstaller which does a good job of
cleaning left over Registry entries after the normal uninstall process.

Before doing the reinstall, make sure that you are up to date with Microsoft Critical Updates.

    Thank you,
I have regained control, and P.C. seems stable apart from this Java issue. I have tried looking at CUSTOM options withing Internet options to take me back to having what I described in my first post 06/08/11. I think this is where all this about activex block / allow thing is coming from ?

Back to the point, I am running ..int,ex,9... WINDOWS VISTA (basic) I have had this Family Tree program for years, This is the web page it produces.... http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/a/n/Lynn-Ian-Banks-essex/ ..... I managed to get someone else to try it , and it still works. Click on "Internet TREE" (JAVA ?) BOX POPS UP , and you get NO NAME, use tools withing top left and you get name , click etc..etc. TRY IT YOURSELF, PLEASE.

Program worked on old P.C. running XP , BOARD went faulty, after a year managed to get this P.C. However cannot say that I have ever had this web page to work properly on this new P.C. Eventually got one of 2 old hard drives IN to THIS P.C. moved F.T.files TO NEW DRIVE HERE.

Having regained control of original F.T. files, I had hoped to tidy and update the web page , which it is badly in need of.

I can post a Java log (from email sent F.T. help site) if anyone has any idea as to understanding this Java language thing.

Yes system restore works, as far as I know. But add/remove does not remove it, or at least not properly. As on reinstall I am told I have it and go to add/remove..........
It really winds me up that there is no actual Java support , at least that I can find. Again I am sure the simple answer is contained withing the "error message..Parsefile:......" and the "Java log" somewhere and they "java" could answer this in seconds. Coming back to as things really are , I really appreciate you all doing your best to help.

What is the exact error message? Is it as below?

Edit.... Just read your post #5

Please uninstall Java again. Then follow the instructions in this link.

    Cheers..

    Thanks to all,
Everything is back to where it was at my first post. Believe me I am really pleased about this ! As it would seem there is no lasting problems regarding everything else on P.C.
I have used system restore, used FIXJAVA , and have now got clean install of latest Java. Which I am pleased about because I am sure that my problem is something to do with settings on this P.C. , now running I..X..9. when things where O.K. running prev INT..EXPLOR.. on old P.C.

What I want to work will do so on other P.C.s So that says it is not a problem regarding F.T. Program and web-page relating to it. However looking at link suggested, through this link have found link to update my old unsupported F.T.Program should I need it.
So to sum up, thank you to all and I think that the best thing I can do this end is to get someone who knows what they are doing REGARDING SETTINGS to sort it out. Rather than me make a whole mess of things again.
Again, THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP !

    Thank you pistol,
The error message I "was" getting when trying to reinstall Java was as discribed on the link that you pionted out. Of the two fix tools available I have used the fixjava this time. O.k. so still stuck with original problem , but at least all else is stable fo now, and realy dont want to risk messing it all up again:) Will have to get a better head:confused than this 61 yr old one to look at it this end.:cool
