Java problem

I have to uninstall java update 5 and then reinstall it in order to play any games with java.

 

Most Java problems can be fixed by completely removing the current Java update and then re-loading it but NOT by using the online installer. If you've tried uninstalling it using Add/Remove Programs, and you're still having problems, it may be because there's bits leftover. First, uninstall it using a good 3rd party uninstaller to be sure that all the little bits and pieces get removed also. I like Revo Uninstaller; it's free, easy to use, and does a good job. The link is below. When Revo is done removing it, reboot the PC. To be sure it's gone, you can run the MSInstaller cleanup utility and make sure there's no listing for Java. Then download the offline installer for Java from the link below and follow the instructions. Hopefully this will solve your Java issues

The Java link has the instructions on how to install and verify that it has been installed correctly. The link to download the installer is down the page a bit in Step 1. Click on the large "Windows Offline Installation" link to download the installer and then follow the instructions.
