Java Problems

    Hi.

I recently updated my java as per your instructions in the getting started section, and have a few questions. Please forgive my ignorance, I still have much to learn about my computer. I did all the malware removal as per your instructions and have a clean computer, Tim W told me to now pursue the Java issue here in software.

Since I updated java, I have not been able to use it properly. I'm not sure if this is because of the update itself or because I also installed "No Script" on my Mozilla Firefox browser (the java failure coincided with the No Script which was added a few days after the java update). I made sure that my browsers were enabled to run java, but the problem persists. So I decided to uninstall java and reinstall it a few days ago.

As I was uninstalling it, my firewall (comodo) kept alerting me that java was trying to access a number of locations in my computer...I tried to keep up and kept checking each to make sure they were safe but blocked all requests to access as I've never had my firewall alert me to this kind of activity when I've uninstalled a program.

The two that worry me, that I can remember (sorry) were "MS12B9.exe" (no information found through my google searches) and "wcsntfy.exe" which every source has listed as dangerous. (After I completed the malware removal section of Major Geeks, I don't know that this is relevant anymore, but am including this from my original thread just in case).

I am attaching the java error log from my most recent use of java.

    Several things:

    1. What is the file location of those two files you mention?

    2. Have you disabled the "No Script" add on and seen how your PC performs without it?

    3. Have you followed the correct instructions in this link to uninstall Java and then tried reinstalling? http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=149858

I took a screen shot of the comodo event because when I searched for them on my computer, I couldn't find them. I've attached it below.

Yes. The same thing happens. I am attaching the java error log below from when the No Script was disabled.

I did, yes. I am thinking it may be something I did denying access through my firewall...not sure.

    Thanks, btw.
