    I have 4 different updates
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 11

Do I need all of them, or can I remove 6,9, and 10??

Also, I have adobe reader 7.1.0 and ABBYY FineReader 6.0 Sprint. I am not familiar with the FineReader. Is it like adobe reader?? And if it is, can I remove the FineReader, it doesn't ever get used. :confused

My computer has very little disk space left and I am trying to clean out as much junk as possible. Any help would be much appreciated.

As far as Java, you should make sure you always have the current version. All of yours are old versions.

    Run JavaRa to uninstall them.

Download and install the current version which is Java 6 Update 16

ABBYY FineReader 6.0 is for a scanner. Do you use a scanner?

I have Java 6 update 11, so I'll def. update that version. I'm installing JavaRa, and then I'll run that. And yes, I do use a scanner, I have one on my P.O.S. printer, but I do use it often.

You can uninstall all outdated versions of Java and just install the current one.

If you have the scanner, even if you only use it a bit, you should keep ABBYY FineReader.

As far as clearing out space.....Do you have an external harddrive that you use to back up files and transfer over anything that you don't access much. For example, if you keep pictures saved on your computer, that would be an ideal way to open up some space and at the same time back them all up.

got it all done, now i only have the one current version.
Any advice on multiple .NET updates? I have the following:
    Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
    Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 hotfix
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2
    Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
Is there a program that works like JavaRa to clean these up, or do I need them all?

You need all of those, if you selected them.
I currently only have 1.1 and the hotfix installed.
If you opted to install 2, then you need the SP.
If you installed 3, then you need the SP; likewise for 3.5.
