    As per usual.

    No matter which User Account I use, The Sun-JAVA updater is telling me I need "elevation". It also will not allow me to UN-check the Auto-update feature.

    Running Vista Home.

    Any suggestions please?

    Thanks in advance...

    So the updater is trying to get permission to update in accounts with limited privileges?
    From the admin account, I'd uninstall it and follow the directions from;
    http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=214760
    Then I would reboot and use WINPATROL to disable the updater, I prefer to control these myself. :wave:wave:wave

    Well thanks, but not exactly... I'm getting an error message (denying me due to lack of 'elevation') no matter which UA I use (and yes, I tried the Admin, as well as another account with elevated privileges.

    Also, are you sure this-->http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=214760 is the link you wanted to send to me on this, please
    ??
