Java

    I have Java on windows xp but it does not run - i have tried removing it and reinstalling it and it still dos not work - what do i do?

    Uninstall all versions first. Make sure you look to for them in Add/Remove programs older version have slightly different naming conventions then newer versions. You may see some that say Java and some that begin with J2SE. There could be more than one becuase they do not uninstall old versions when they do updtaes. I have seen as many as 10 versions still installed on a PC. After uninstalling ALL of them, reboot (do not skip the reboot). Then download the current version from the below link and install it:

    Sun Java Runtime Environment

    I remoevd it like you said and reinstalled it and now it comes up saying there are several java virtual machines running caused an error and and allso another one which says it counld not be opened.
