    Hi

I wanted to install the java j2se plug on my xp pro. but the instalation stopped with error message 1311 that say one file named jo150000[1].cab dose not exist or it can't be accessed, this is half the problem when I went to look for it the C:\documents and setting\sam\local settings\temporary internet files\content.ie5\xf7l7174\jo150000[1].cab this trail will stop at the sam folder there is no local settings and beyond... I tried to creat a folder and name it local settings windows send error message that this name already exist in the sam folder but I can't see it this is the other half.
I run xp pro, zonealarm, avg virus protection, tuneup utilities 2004 and proport
I have screen captures for the problem but I don't know how to attach it to the message if any one like I can attach them to a regular email, I thank any one will take the time to let me know what is going on.....

Thank you for the replies, I did both things with manual setup it returns error message that the window installer is not working, and on the automatic still the same 1311 error, is there a way to change the window installer?????

OK Check to see if the following is Disabled.

Open the Local Security Policy application under Administrative Tools in the Control Panel.

Under Local Policies->Security Options check to see if
The entry for "Restrict CD-ROM access to locally logged-on user only" is set to Disabled.
or Alternately, you can modify the setting in the Registry. Change the value for the key allocatecdroms under the branch HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon to 0.

Thank you guys, and special thanks to "jujet84".
I changed the value from "no value" to "0" and it worked perfectly, thank you again.

I have exactly the same problem but after I went to registry i found the value of 'allocatecdrom' already set to 0 and i don't know what else to do. Did you try other things before you set the value to '0'? i mean, could it be something else that enable your java to work? (it's driving me crazy, anybody help~ i would really appreciate your time)

Question---- is there a reason why you haven't updated to SP2,I believe that once you update to SP2 your java problem's will be solved.
