Hi, ive just learnt how to use HTML and XHTML and CSS styles in 2 days. Ive started looking at javascript. I dont see there being any point in using javascript to write text with, whats the difference between using html to write things and javascript to write things. I understand about using all the pop up signs and that, but i dont understand what the difference is about the text.
    Please help.

    Thanks

writing an entire page out using javascript doesn't happen often and if it is done, I question why. Usually there's some one-of situation.

Javascript is used primarily to control the state of the page dynamically. That means modifying elements and perhaps even updating the pages' data using Asycn calls to some service (AJAX).

I sometimes use JavaScript to write things that would be useless if JavaScript is disabled, such as a button that runs a JavaScript function. I also use this to write text that is browser specific, or that relies on some object, or some other condition. Usually the server can do page generation better, but when content should depend on something on the client, this is one way to do it. I do use JavaScript to generate almost whole pages if I am working offline and need conditional content.
