Jave update

    Hi,

    I downloaded Jave 7 1.7.0. two weeks ago from MajorGeeks and now I see there's a new Jave download out ,Sun Java Runtime Environment 6 Update 27. Did I miss something 7 is newer that 6 you would think. What's up with that.

    If you have Java RTE (JRE) 7 and it works fine for you, then you don't need to install any JRE 6 updates any more. (You did uninstall JRE 6 before you installed JRE 7?)

    Caution: JRE 7 does not work with every software. I had to uninstall it and revert to JRE 6, because LibreOffice 3.4.2 would not recognize JRE 7.

    Yes I did uninstall JRE 6,everything on my PC works just fine.

    I'm sticking with JRE7 too. Have not had any problems

    The update 27 was intended to enhance the Firefox browser according to some of the info about the download. I wish more application vendors would stay up on Java and have a fix or enhancement ready if a conflict arises.
