I thought I'd try both JkDefrag and MyDefrag. Both have the same problem - which is:

If you have multi-terrabyte disk drives AND you have really big files (like I have some that are 539GB files (archives) - THEN you will begin either getting notices that say something like "Oops! Ran out of memory" or you may get graphic overwrites. Neither of which are good. Tried to contact the developer - but could not send to their email addresses. So - beware folks!

Decided to reinstall Perfect Disk. My problem with Perfect Disk is (and I have written Raxco about it) is that it seems to get into a perpetual loop. When it hits two REALLY BIG files (archives again) it first says "Moving out file A" and then "Moving out file B" and then just cycles between those two messages.

How I long for the days when Norton's Speed Disk worked and worked without a hitch. :)

Ever since Windows 7, MS included a defragger that runs automatically. You do not need to defrag disks. Check that you have it scheduled and make use of the built in part of Windows.

Here is my 2013 laptop, running Windows 7, that I have NEVER defragged.

Note how everything is 0% fragmented. I could run on C drive because it was last done on Dec. 6th.
