John Mcafee Dead

Reading the paper this morning and I saw that John McAfee was found dead in a Spanish prison cell while awaiting extradition to the USA to appear on income tax evasion and cryptocurrency charges. It was presumed to be suicide but not yet confirmed pending autopsy.
McAfee has been a troubled soul for quite some years and his eccentric (some say crazy) behaviour has overshadowed his previously good reputation when he was working in the AV software industry.
All the same whether he was crazy or not, it is still a shame for one of the pioneer AV developers to die under these circumstances.

I don't know when that picture was taken of him but he looks like he was on drugs 24 / 7.I have not heard of John McAfee since around 2010 so i guess he has been in prison all this time no wonder

 

He was arrested in October 2020 and the day he allegedly committed suicide was the same day that Spain agreed to extradite him back to the USA to face multiple charges.
Reportedly he has been a drug addled mess since the 1990s both as a user and a manufacturer/seller and he has had many run ins with the law over a protracted time. His ranch in Belize was raided by the Gang Suppression Unit and burnt down under suspicious circumstances....

Regardless of his personal life, he contributed much, for which he can be recognised and appreciated for.

It has always fascinated me with some brilliant minds at how screwed up their personal life is/can be. I've seen that with some personal friends, and never been able to fathom this aspect of their thinking.
