Join Or Merge Mp4 Files

Has anyone used a free program in Windows 7 that will merge or join 2 or 3 mp4 files?

I do not want to be sent online. I want to do this on one of my computers. I also don't want to pay for a program that I'll probably use once or twice.

I saw VLC can do this but it appears lots of folks were not successful trying it. I saw examples of command line options but my use of commands is really rusty. I can try it but I suspect I'll get errors thrown up.

If anyone has a recommendation aside from VLC or WMP (I don't have this set up on any computer and I'm not doing it at this late date in Windows 7), I'd appreciate any suggestions.

 

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner!

After trying VLC and getting no where, I looked at a few other programs that seemed complicated. Then I stumbled across MP4 Joiner, part of MP4 Tools here.

It is simple, it is free, it does what I wanted and it didn't take too long to do the job. I'm very happy with the program.
1. Open it up and click on the Add button until you have all the clips you want to join in the correct order.
2. Click the Join button. It will ask for a name. The default name is output but I like a descriptive name.
3. Grab a cup of coffee while it works.
