Joomla

Anyone know if there is a way with Joomla, to make it so that users that log into the site can have access to different pages (articles) for instance
User-Jo would log in and have access to article 1, and user-bob would log in and have access to article 2??? While both would also have regular log in permission as well to access all other things that a registered user would access. But restricting article 1 and article 2 to specific users

Any ideas?
I am hoping that there is some sort of core functionality do to this with.

This is not possible with Joomla's core functionality.
