Download a copy of Irfanview (it's free). You can run a batch conversion to change all your bitmap photos to jpegs. Also, it's great for resizing photos for e-mailing/e-Bay posting, etc.

I have "Capture" and "image resizer",they work fine, but I just want all my images saved in Jpeg.
    I use XP home.

LikeI said, Irfanview is great at converting bitmap images to jpegs. I periodically run a batch -- you just drag the file names into the window and click "run batch", and it converts them all. Then you can delete the original bitmap images (there is a setting where it can do this automatically, but I prefer to make sure I have the images saved first).

    Hi

Which version of IE you using?
    Which Service Pack for XP?

Try as IIRC you did have malware on this PC a short while back to resest IE back to default settings, to do this click Tools > Internet options > Advanced tab and Reset (if you had some custom settings you will need to re-apply them again)

Going from the malware aspect, just wonder if some dlls are out of whack! so try this with browser closed and temps and cache deleted, to re-register a main dll, click Start > Run and type or paste this regsvr32 /i mshtml.dll then hit enter.

Not a final solution but more a workaround to test that its only caused via IE is to use anotehr browser to test this happens in them, options are Firefox and Opera
