jpg curruption

    I had some files that were deleted from a computer I was able to use an undelete program "getdataback" to recover the files however they do not open. and under image preview it says no preview available. Does anyone know of a good program or something I can do to repair the undeleted files? Thanks

    Hi

    You could try this app http://www.majorgeeks.com/XnView__d4974.html as it has in the past recovered corrupted JPGs for me, especially when the header file is corrupt, this app will also rebuild the thumbnails/previews.

    BUT will depend on level of corruption.

    thanks but that program was not able to open the file gave an error message that said unable to determine file type. any other suggestions? thanks

    Could try the below,


    1. Right click one of the images and choose open with and choose your browser, if the image opens click File > Save as

    2. http://georgecox.excelrecovery.com/pixrecovery/index.htm this recovery app says it can recovery corrupted JPGs, but its not free ( $150 ), but worth seeing if the files are recoverable at all.
